I started learning crochet in late March 2026, when I picked up a cute little crochet kit from a nearby grocery store. At first, learning the different stitches was surprisingly fun and simple — until I decided to take on my first plushie project: a turtle.
Let’s just say… it looked a little different from the picture😂
But that didn’t stop me! I started learning more through YouTube tutorials, trying out different projects along the way. Some turned out surprisingly well, while others… definitely became learning experiences.
And that’s how TheNoobCrochet began – a place where I can share my crochet journey, the things I learn, the mistakes I make, and hopefully some cute creations along the way.
🌱 Why “The Noob Crochet”?
I didn’t start crocheting knowing what I was doing.
I was, and still am, a noob.
And that’s exactly what I want this website to represent.
You don’t need to be an expert to start crocheting. You don’t need to understand every stitch, own a giant collection of yarn, or know exactly what you’re doing.
This blog is a space where I document everything I learn along the way. As someone who started with absolutely no experience, I know how overwhelming it can feel when you don’t know where to begin or what to make first. My hope is that this website can make that first step a little easier for others.
